Throughout the ages, those in positions of political, religious, and commercial authority have attempted to restrict, legislate, or determine for the rest of us what should comprise the dominate culture. Using music as an example, we will explore the question of how culture is defined, how those definations affect our perceptions, and what we can learn from all of this that will further our work toward peace.
