In our UU Church of Fresno the "quest for truth" makes pledging to the church one of our best investments.  We live over 35 miles from the  church in a small town with over twenty varieties of Christian denominations.  They certainly have good intentions but we are uncomfortable with their dogma.   Commuting to Fresno (via Prius) and making monthly donations makes us feel good in supporting the UU principles.
