Director of Religious Education

 

UUCF is searching for an outstanding Co-Director of Religious Education (DRE) to work half-time with Aubree Smith, our current Director of Religious Education. We are a 56 year old, dynamic, growing congregation with over 130 children and youth in our church school program. We are seeking an exceptional DRE to work collaboratively in implementing our vision for growth and learning. Director of Religious Education

Reports to our Minister, Rev. Bryan Jessup

Serves with the Minister and Church Administrator on the UUCF Ministry Team

Administers our Youth Religious Education Program

Supervises our childcare worker and rainbow class worker

Supports members in their spiritual search

Assists parents to help their children's spiritual growth

Identifies and implements curricula based on our vision

Trains and supports teachers and other volunteers in our ministry

Serves as a resource for families and members

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who

Knows and affirms UU principles and values

A Bachelor's Degree or religious education credentials from the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) or a comparable religious organization

Has experience as a DRE (or equivalent experience)

Will work collaboratively with the Co-DRE, the UUCF Ministry Team, Youth Religious Education Committee, Minister, Office Staff, Youth Adult Council and Music Director

Possesses strong communication and organizational skills

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and a sense of humor
